[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Claims not checked out

Dan,

The "Mark Claimed Returned" does work. It's just not how Horizon handled it (which may be a good thing), so I couldn't see a way to deal with the "claims not checked out" issue. Your idea has some merit, so I'm going to try it on the test server to see what happens if I mark it and then it shows back up.

Thanks for the suggestion,
Deanna

Hi Deanna:

What happens on the patrons' Items Out list if you right-click on the
item and choose "Mark Claimed Returned"? I thought this would work,
but I could be mistaken.

As for the "claims not checked out" situation, I suppose you could
Mark the Item Lost, forgive the bill with a payment of "Forgive" and a
note "claims not checked out", and then hope that the item turns up.
Although I'm not sure if that will lead to a mess if the item does
turn back up and a credit in the amount of the "Lost" penalty gets
applied to the patron's account. Other people have much more circ
experience than I, so I should probably just shut up :)

Dan
