[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Problems with few MARC Codes

Dimitri,

Glad to be of help.

1. Unfortunately, the ISBD punctuation does not display in the OPAC. An
argument I lost with the developers, along with displaying more of the MARC
record in the OPAC view.

2. When the : displays in the 245, it usually means that the 2nd (filing)
indicator is incorrect and the software has not detected an initial article.
For example, 245 14 Cataloging U.S.A. Would display in the OPAC as Cata
loging U.S.A. or Cata : loging U.S.A. A colon should not, however, display
if the indicator is correct, so I’m not sure why it is displaying for you.
If you want to send me screen shots of the OPAC and MARC views, I could
check to see if there is anything on the surface that might be causing it.
If it is coding, I can’t help there.

Elaine

Dear Elaine,

First of all, thank you for your help!

We hope that in future versions it will be possible to remove the fields
that we need.
At this stage we have the following problems with the code 245:
1. If the 245 code after the header should be subtitled, we have to write
the colon. But the system does not always perceive it.
2. With code 245 has two indicator. We have problem with second indicator.
For example, if a sentence begins with an article The and we set the
indicator value 4, in OPAC after the article Evergreen shows the colon.
Why is this happening?

Yours,

Dimitri Gogelia

Dimitri,

The 505 doesn't display in the OPAC view. What subfields are you using in
245 and 260? I believe only the 245 a and b display and 260 b and c. (I
think later versions of Evergreen have ways to display more of the MARC
record, which is a good thing).

Another problem can be the same sync issue as before. Any changes you make
in MARC edit may not display immediately in the version you are using, even
if they are displaying in MARC view.

Hi All,

I have a Problem with Marc Code 245. When I enter data into this field, the
data is not displayed in OPAC.
Also, same problem with MARC Codes 505 and 260.

Is any idea, what it should be?

Any piece of information, some experience will be very useful!

Problem is in Evergreen, version 1.4.0.2

Yours,

Dimitri Gogelia
