[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Item receiving in serial control view 2.0beta 5

Hello Kathy,
Before answering the question, let me qualify it by saying that this call number link requirement is being shelved for now (possibly coming back in 2.1). It will be replaced very soon by something more direct for creating call numbers in the 'Serial Control' view.
That said, the current interface populates the dropdown with any call numbers within the distribution's 'Holding Lib'. So, if your distribution has 'BR1' for the holding lib, you should see in the dropdown any call numbers available within BR1 (will need to 'Refresh' if you add one without closing the tab). With that set, new units should attach to this call number as they are created.
The idea here was that the OPAC holdings would display both the call number (e.g. PN1997.G53) and an additional unit label (e.g. V.1) rather than rely on the call number to hold both. However, as I stated above, this idea has been postponed, and the interface will instead soon put both pieces of information in the call number (as is typical of current Evergreen use), so please keep that in mind as you continue your evaluation.
Thanks,
Dan
