Hi,

My answers are based on how the Sitka production server is configured,
I'm sure someone will chime in and point out where the default out of
the box installation is different.

Acquisitions is more to manage the workflow of ordering and tracking
money. If you're looking to put some records in so you can see how
search and circulation work you don't need to use Acq.

I'm assuming you mean an OPAC search. If there's no holdings
(associated volume and item records) the title won't be found in the
OPAC, but it will still be searchable in the staff client.

A typical library workflow would be to add holdings when you create
the MARC record. If you didn't want it to show in the OPAC, you could
put it in a shelving location that is not OPAC visible.

Again, you should be able to retrieve records that don't have holdings
in the staff client. Here's how:

The trick on this screen is all the keyboard shortcuts to add a
subfield, etc. are listed under the Help button.
