A number of factors led us to being a little later this year with looking
for sponsorships than we would have liked but the Hack-A-Way is coming up,
September 17-19th hosted by Calvin College in Michigan.
This is the annual mid year chance for the developers to meet and discuss
issues from quality assurance to expanding functionality. It brings
developers together to have the kind of in depth discussion that IRC and
email don't always provide.
This is not a conference. Instead of having something for everyone this is
for those who work with the code - writing it and signing off on commits.
The annual conference is an invaluable time since so many voices come
together and this is more about concentrated focus on the big picture
issues of long range development.
Attendees pay their own way but many services are provided by the host at
their expense. Sponsorships help offset those costs some and help provide
additional services such as the very importance presence of caffeine (in
large quantities).
I will be contacting some entities directly soon asking if they would like
to provide a sponsorship but anyone can sponsor the Hack-A-Way including
individual libraries.
Also look for the registation page to come up soon.
