[Evergreen-catalogers] Authority records

Hi Josh,
For CWMARS the browse search shows the cross-references. The 4xx fields
display with a *See *reference to the term in the 1xx fields. The 5xx field
creates *See also* references. As far as I know this only happens with
browse searching and does not get included in advanced searches.
Before this was working I was editing the authority record (<gasp>) to
include the alternate form of the name as a qualifier. The system updated
all the headings linked to the authority record, some unlinked headings I
edited manually. I preferred this to adding 700 fields or indexing the
245|c as it can be undone just as easily. It certainly stopped most
complaints about the main entry not matching the name on the item.
Thus the main entry of *Pelzer, David J*. would look like *Pelzer, David J.
(Dave)*.
Even though we now have cross-references in browse I think patrons (and
most staff) are still searching the author as a regular OPAC search.
